VR GP - Respiratory Clinic | Full time and part time available | Hourly Rate $200-250

VR GPs are urgently needed in a new respiratory clinic in Melton to assess patients with respiratory symptoms who are unable to be seen by their regular GP, and don't warrant a visit to the Emergency Department.  Registered Nurses will be on duty across all shifts to assist with the screening and triaging of patients and will also support testing and swabbing. The PHN funding for the respiratory clinic is for 6 months, with the potential to extend.  We have shifts available across extended opening hours 7 days per week.

Essential Criteria

• MBBS or equivalent
• Must have a current and valid AHPRA GENERAL /SPECIALIST registration
• FRACGP qualified
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and wear full PPE

Responsibilities

• Undertake full face to face respiratory assessments (including ECG) of patients with acute respiratory symptoms including adult and paediatric patients
• Take detailed clinical patient history
• Develop and implement a COVID-19 management plan and provide appropriate preventative health care
• Refer COVID-19 positive patients into COVID +ve Pathway or to emergency care as clinically required
• Support the team to maintain high COVID safe practices

Skills and Experience

• You will possess unrestricted registration with AHPRA
• Sound knowledge of infection control principles including PPE
• Have excellent organisational and liaison skills
• You must be comfortable examining patients face to face including children and elderly
• Ideally have experience in respiratory health including assessment and management with both adult and paediatric patients
