The Director of Clinical Training (DCT) demonstrates clinical leadership ensuring prevocational Interns, Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs) and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) employed within the Eyre & Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) receive high quality education, training, assessment and support, in accordance with the established state and national standards for prevocational medicaleducation and training of the South Australian Medical Education and Training (SA MET), Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Medical Council (AMC).

 

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Medical Services, the DCT provides leadership to the Medical Education Unit (MEU) by supporting and encouraging professional development of MEU team members with the aim of improving processes and striving for education best practice delivery. The DCT provides leadership and support to MEU team members by leading and supporting engagement of the unit with key internal and external stakeholders who support the training of the Interns, TMOs and IMGs. The DCT also actively participates and supports quality, safety, clinical risk management and continuing professional development activities.

 

Eyre and Far North Local Health Network:
Residents within the Eyre & Far North Local Health Network have access to a wide range of health care services. The Eyre and Far North region covers the largest geographical area of any LHN in South Australia. It covers Eyre Peninsula, North to the Northern Territory border and West to the West Australian border. Services provided within the Eyre & Far North region include accident and emergency, day and inpatient surgery, aboriginal health, obstetric services, community health and aged care services.


We have Health facilities located within Port Lincoln, Cummins, Tumby Bay, Elliston, Kimba, Cleve Cowell, Wudinna, Streaky Bay, Ceduna and Coober Pedy. The health units within the Eyre & Far North LHN have dedicated and experienced staff who strive to meet the needs of the community by providing the highest level of health care.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) Directions 2021 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
