Haematology Service, Lakes DHB (Rotorua / Taupo)
A new & exciting opportunity - we are seeking a full time Consultant Medical Haematologist to lead the local haematology services at Lakes DHB.
This new role will work closely with the regional service based at Waikato DHB to provide comprehensive care to outpatient, inpatient and chemotherapy/medical day care patients. Tertiary level support will continue to be provided at Rotorua by the Waikato DHB Medical Oncology and Haematology Department.
The individual needs to be committed, able to work closely with the local resident SMO teams and also with the regional services. To foster a learning culture across undergraduate and postgraduate staff.
The role will be aligned within Medical Services at Rotorua and will have strong links to Waikato DHB to maintain professional development and peer support.

This role provides the opportunity to redesign the services we provide to our community, provide a local Clinical Expert and improve haematology services to our population.
The beautiful Lakes District of Rotorua and Taupo is well known for its outdoor recreational options including trout fishing, walking tracks, cycling and mountain biking. Lake and river water sports such as boating and kayaking are exceptional.
Yet only an hour from the spectacular east coast beaches and Lake Taupo, and with Whakapapa and Turoa ski fields an easy drive away. Add to this to affordable housing, good schooling and a friendly atmosphere and you have one of the best places in the world to work.
The candidate must have qualifications that would satisfy the requirements for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and must have a driver license.
