The client is seeking to attract Consultant Anaesthetists and General Practice Anaesthetists looking for an opportunity to join a team of dynamic individuals who thrive among good culture? As the surgical footprint expands, the client is looking for a commitment towards building a team to train junior doctors in Anaesthetics through various post graduate pathways. This is a growing service and has recently received funding for Phase 1 of our new hospital build. The client is committed to a hybrid of consultants and GPs who support a busy Surgical Service delivering elective and emergency care as well as the rural generalist model of care. The client will also consider part time, full time and VMO FRANZCA’s / JCCA who are interested in delivering high quality services in a teaching environment. The client has a medical centre that has a footprint of 8Gp’s and has capability to support GP Anaesthetists looking for part procedural work. The clinic has 2 full time ED GP’s who are college censors. We have a full time physician/ geriatrician with a subacute unit. As well as a maternity unit that has 220 births/ year. We have nearly every speciality of surgery running 5 days/ week.

There are great schools and great education destination. In 2018,  St Mary Mackillop College Swan Hill had 6 students of 42 , Grade 12 students who made it into medical school. 2 of our GP’s children made it into the last Monash undergraduate medical program. As you know in 2019 all programs were converted to postgraduate programs.

Selection Criteria:

• General registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• JCCA Certificate or FANZCA
• Significant experience in anaesthesia and perioperative services
• Evidence of participation in JCCA or ANZCA CPD
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to education and training.
• Interpersonal skills that promote effective teamwork and patient safety
