The role

 GP Synergy is seeking a committed and experienced senior medical educator who shares our values to join our NSW/ACT medical education team in the Nepean, Western and Northern Sydney region.

A Senior Medical Educator takes a leadership role in projects, programs and within the medical education team. Responsibilities include the development and delivery of education activities, assessment of registrar performance, supervisor development and support, registrar training support and guidance, as well as other training related activities.

We are seeking a GP with Fellowship of either the RACGP or ACRRM with experience and an interest in medical education. Being involved in general practice medical education provides the opportunity to develop the future health workforce, enabling succession planning through the provision of well trained and highly skilled general practitioners.

Hours and time commitment for this position are negotiable. Some travel mostly within the region is required.

Selection criteria

To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential applicants meet the following criteria together with the requirements as outlined in the Medical Educator position description grade 3:

• Fellowship of either the RACGP or ACRRM
• Current vocational registration
• Several years experience as a Fellowed GP
• Formal medical education or other relevant qualifications
• At least 4 years experience in medical education
• Unrestricted motor vehicle licence (own transport is preferred)
• Experience as a GP Supervisor and/or clinical teaching visitor (desirable)

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo satisfactory screening, including but not limited to, a national criminal history check and reference screening.
