About the RFDS

We are leaders in providing aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations across South Australia and the Northern Territory.  As we head toward our 100th year of providing services, we are focused on becoming more specialised, more innovative and a better-connected health service provider.

About the role

We are seeking passionate and innovative leaders to expand our Port Augusta team of Generalist Consultant Rural Generalists to drive the future of rural and remote health in Australia.

As a specialist in rural and remote emergency and primary medicine you will be challenged to use your expertise and initiative in both aeromedical and remote clinic environments. One day you could be running a primary healthcare clinic in an outback community, the next day retrieving a trauma patient from a remote location such as a cattle station, roadhouse or mine site! You will be supporting your flight nursing and remote area nursing colleagues with your medical expertise both remotely and in person for a wide variety of patients.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current Fellowship with one or more of the following:
    • Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACCRM)
    • Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP)

Travel and accommodation packages available via Adelaide and Port Augusta. We offer attractive remuneration including salary packaging benefits.

You’ll come to work knowing that your efforts are enabling our organisation to remain at the forefront of rural and remote health care delivery and advocacy, and enabling you to be a central part of your community, bridging the gap for rural and indigenous Australians.
