Central Adelaide Local Health Network, SA Prison Health Service, Regional, Cadell Indicative Total Remuneration: MDP-4 - $181,951 - $236,775 (pro rata) Permanent Part-Time working 7.6 hours per week You will promote the health and wellbeing of persons affected by imprisonment by providing responsive primary health care services, programs and activities which are based on social justice and harm minimisation principles. This will be achieved working in collaboration with SA Prison Health Service (SAPHS) and the Department for Correctional Services (DCS) staff, and with community health care services. Contributing to the provision of safe, best practice medical primary healthcare services to patients of SAPHS, you will assess patients and manage significant clinical risks. Managing a range of health problems comparable to that seen in general practice, you will also provide expertise in managing mental health, substance use/dependence and indigenous patient health problems.
You will develop and maintain effective clinical and public health practices in consultation with the SAPHS Medical Director, and assist in the development and implementation of appropriate health surveillance and screening programs. Along with prescribing medication and reviewing usage in accordance with SAPHS policy and procedures, you will be encouraged to undertake appropriate training and participate in opioid agonist treatment.
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. With a proven track record of experience in primary health care and demonstrated clinical excellence in general practice, you will possess a sound understanding of contemporary health issues.
Along with excellent skills in problem solving and decision making, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a team and multidisciplinary environment.
