In addition to the General Practice, this role will also include coverage of the NSW Health Multi-Purpose Service including on-call responsibilities for ED, inpatients and aged care as a Visiting Medical Officer. Telehealth support exists within the service for CAT 3-5 presentations occurring out of hours. A very attractive daily rate for hospital work is incorporated into the overall package.

Bourke is one of the largest centres in Western NSW, with a population of 1,824 at last census. After it was settled, Bourke quickly established itself as the main trade hub of the region, linking large outback stations to major trade routes including the Darling River’s boat trade. Its significance as a major centre is evidenced to this day by its wealth of colonial and federation buildings.
