The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) has two exciting opportunities for highly skilled and experienced primary health care professionals to join the Charleville and Mount Isa bases Leadership team.

The Medical Lead; Primary Health Care will lead a team of Primary Health Care doctors operating out of our bases serving regional, rural and remote Queenslanders. This is a permanent opportunity with the option to Fly In and Fly Out.

What you'll be doing:

Leading the service delivery, health outcomes, education, representation, advocacy, operational efficiency and financial performance of RFDS primary health care services

Develop and implement operational plans for Base

Provide leadership, support and guidance to Medical Officers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of primary health care services

Lead workforce planning and recruitment of Medical Officers to ensure the base is adequately resourced to deliver primary health care services

Engage with clinical governance processes and ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Explore ways to expand and enhance primary health care services, contributing to strategic direction and strategy development across the broader team.

Who are we looking for?

Current AHPRA registration (Health Practitioner)

Fellowship of the RACGP or ACCRM; 5 years relevant experience 

Ability to meet Medical Officer credentialing requirements and maintain own clinical practice in Primary Health Care environment

Well-developed management skills including demonstrated skills in leadership and decision making

Demonstrated ability to implement change and a commitment to continuous quality management

Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary Medical practice in the primary health care environment.
