Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd is an independent community based not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that was founded by a group of volunteers from the local Aboriginal community of the Victorian South West region in 1979. From humble beginnings to long-term vision of our community has driven the organisation as the primary provider of social, health and cultural services in our region.

The position

Working at our modern and busy clinic, the General Practitioner will report to our most senior doctor and have all the support services at hand as part of a team of professionals, including support staff. You will work closely with our Aboriginal Health Team, this full-time, ongoing position that provides access to much needed holistic, culturally appropriate care for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal patients.

About you

Working in our “bulk-billing” clinic, you will be required to have:

• FRACGP or the ability to apply for such membership.
• AHPRA Registration plus a minimum of two years medical work experience.
• Medicare Claiming Eligibility.

Previous experience and/or knowledge of the need of our Aboriginal community and an affinity with the Aboriginal culture would be well regarded.
