Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is located in the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales and is a Level 4 Paediatric Unit with 8 inpatient beds for children and young people till 18 years of age and a 2 bed special care nursery, supporting a level 4 maternity unit with 450 deliveries annually.
The Hospital currently employs three experienced general Paediatricians who are looking for a fourth colleague to join their team at 0.8 FTE. In addition to the 1 in 4 on call roster, the role involves outpatient care and the provision of an Out of Home Care clinic to the surrounding areas of Inverell and Tamworth, equivalent to 0.3 FTE, funded to June 2022.
This position is ideally suited to those who are looking for the ideal combination of a relaxed rural lifestyle with a challenging reward career in regional paediatrics. The clinical work enables those with a broad skill set across neonates and paediatrics as well as provides an opportunity to develop a subspecialty interest in clinical care or in academic pursuits in teaching or research.
Advanced trainees nearing complication of their training are invited to apply as the hospital has current RACP accreditation for 6 month AT position in General Paediatrics with option to continue onto consultant role on completion of training.
