The Opportunity

Ochre Health is seeking an experienced, vocationally registered General Practitioner (GP) to join our busy, RACGP award-winning Sunshine Coast Medical Centre. The centre is situated in Sippy Downs, on the coast between between Caloundra and Maroochydore.

The medical centre was awarded Queensland General Practice of the Year in 2016 by RACGP based on its approach to patient health and wellbeing, service scope and delivery. It has also been a winner of the AGPAL/QIP Innovation Award.

Ochre Medical Centre Sippy Downs is a large facility with 30 GP consulting rooms, four triage bays, two procedure rooms and the latest primary health technology and equipment. It is a busy practice with full appointment books and high patient demand, hence the need for a new doctor.

The medical centre offers a wide range of allied health services, including radiology, pathology, psychology, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, podiatry, rheumatology, yoga and pilates.

It also has a pharmacy, a dental practice, a dietician and a café. The onsite fracture clinic allows doctors to fit, check and remove plaster casts, while patients can access bandages, crutches and other supplies from the onsite pharmacy.

The practice has a wonderful, dedicated reception staff as well as ten nurses who assist doctors with Chronic Disease Management and Health Assessments, immunisations, wound dressings, ear syringing, removal of sutures and other services.

Ochre Medical Centre Sippy Downs also has has a strong focus on education and is an accredited training centre to take on registrars. It works closely with the University of the Sunshine Coast, situated across the road, as well as being one of the Sippy Downs & District Community Association’s key corporate partners, providing training opportunities for health science students.

The Sunshine Coast region is one of Australia’s fastest growing and most dynamic areas. With its abundance of great beaches, surf spots, resorts and entertainment venues, it has a beachy, relaxed lifestyle at the same time. The winding waterways of the hinterland river delta offer great boating, with many houses in the area backing onto private moorings. There are a range of excellent schools, sporting facilities and golf courses.

As home to the thriving University of the Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs itself is Australia’s first masterplanned university town with a young, cosmopolitan population and all the conveniences and amenities of a big city.
