The Opportunity

Ochre Health are currently seeking experienced and capable General Practitioners interested in working in Tasmanian’s breathtaking North-East region.

Ochre Health are one of the primary healthcare providers throughout the North-East, operating the medical centres in Scottsdale, St Helens and Bridport, as well as providing on-call services to the Scottsdale and St Helens Hospitals. We currently have a number of vacancies across these locations.

The Location

Tasmania’s North-East region boasts some of the state’s most popular draw-cards, including the tourist mecca of Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay, the internationally feted Blue Derby mountain bike park, and the world renowned Barnbougle Golf Course.

On the coast, in places such as St Helens and Bridport, the ocean provides a focal point for life. As some of the state’s best fishing is to be had in the surrounding waters, there are no shortage of charters and cruises to get you out on the sea – and no shortage of fish punts plying the wharves if you’d rather skip to the end result. Surfing is particularly popular, with a string of popular surf breaks (as well as a few well-kept secrets) along the coast.

Inland, one of the biggest attractions of recent years is Blue Derby. The rags-to-riches story of Derby, an ex-mining town on the wane, and its overnight transformation into a world-class mountain biking destination is a fascinating story, and the 85km+ of carefully designed trails over the surrounding peaks provide an experience equally fitted to veteran riders and first-timers alike. And if that’s not your speed, Barnbougle Golf Course might be- set in the sand dunes of Bridport, this 18 hole course is widely regarded as one of Australia's finest.

Requirements

• General Registration or Vocational Registration with AHPRA
• Proficient with common general practice conditions
• Previous experience as a Rural General Practitioner is highly desirable
